The cru's history is tied to the Château d'Ollwiller at the foot of the slope, owned in turn by the counts of Ferrette, Cistercian monks and the Waldner counts. The vineyard was devastated by French artillery in 1915 and 1916 during the battle of the Hartmannswillerkopf. It lies just south of Wuenheim, facing south-south-east between 260 and 330 m.
