One of the smallest grands crus, the Geisberg rises just north of Ribeauvillé town centre on steep due-south slopes between 250 and 320 m. Its vines grow on dolomitic Muschelkalk marl, with clay and shell-limestone soils and gypsum near the top. Only Riesling is declared there.
