The von Neipperg family bought La Mondotte in 1971, together with Canon-la-Gaffelière. The wine has been sold as La Mondotte from the 1996 vintage, and a new cellar opened on the estate in 1997. It was promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé in 2012.
