The vineyard was farmed by the monks of the church of Saint-Martin in the Middle Ages and took the name Beauséjour in 1787. When the estate was divided in 1869, this half passed by marriage to the Duffau-Lagarrosse family. The other half is today's Beau-Séjour Bécot.
