The Daëne name comes from the Bordeaux wine merchant Jean-Jacques-Emmanuel Daëne, who bought one of the three parts of the Doisy estate. Georges Dubourdieu acquired it in 1924, and his son Pierre began making a dry white wine in the early 1950s. The family bought neighbouring Doisy-Dubroca in 2014.
