The name Climens first appears in a contract of 1547, and the Roborel family developed the vineyard. The estate was classified premier cru in 1855 and was bought by Lucien Lurton in 1971; his daughter Bérénice Lurton ran it from 1992, and Jean-Hubert Moitry took a majority stake in 2022.
