Vacqueyras covers the villages of Vacqueyras and Sarrians in the Vaucluse, between the Dentelles de Montmirail and the Ouvèze river. It became a separate AOC in 1990, the second Côtes du Rhône village after Gigondas to do so. It is mainly a red wine appellation.
