Monbazillac is a sweet white wine made from noble-rotted grapes on the left bank of the Dordogne, facing the town of Bergerac. The appellation covers close to 2,000 hectares and was one of the first AOCs in 1936. The 16th-century Château de Monbazillac overlooks the vineyards.
