Osea Perrone first planted vines on Monte Bello Ridge in 1885, at about 700 m above Cupertino. Ridge Vineyards made its first commercial vintage in 1962. Its 1971 Monte Bello came fifth at the 1976 Judgment of Paris, and in the 2006 rematch it was ranked first.
