Tokaji Aszú is made by adding nobly rotten aszú berries to base wine or must, a style with a long history in the Tokaj hills of northeastern Hungary. Furmint covers about 60 percent of the vineyards and Hárslevelű most of the rest. The Tokaj wine region was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage cultural landscape in 2002.
