Palette is one of the smallest appellations of Provence, on limestone slopes just east of Aix-en-Provence in Meyreuil, Le Tholonet and Aix itself. The hamlet that gives it its name lies in Le Tholonet. It became an AOC in 1948, and Château Simone is its best-known estate.
