Gaston Hochar founded Château Musar in 1930 in Ghazir, north of Beirut, after returning from Bordeaux. His son Serge ran the estate from 1959 until his death in 2014 and made it Lebanon's best-known wine abroad. The grapes come from the Bekaa Valley, about 1,000 metres above sea level.
