Château Ksara was founded near Zahlé in the Bekaa Valley by Jesuit priests in 1857. In 1898 a Roman-era cave was discovered on the site, and these tunnels, now 2 kilometres long, are part of its cellars. In 1972 the estate was sold to a group of Lebanese businessmen.
