Dingač is a steep southwest-facing slope of rugged karst on the Pelješac peninsula, planted with Plavac Mali from sea level up to 300 metres. In 1961 it became the first protected wine region in Croatia. In 1973 the growers paid for a tunnel through the mountain to Potomje, which replaced donkeys carrying grapes over the pass.
