Achleiten is a steep terraced vineyard on the Danube just downstream of Weissenkirchen, in the heart of the Wachau. Its stony soils of weathered primary rock give firm, mineral Riesling and Grüner Veltliner. The Wachau valley was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage cultural landscape in 2000.
